Description:
This is the first in a series of LEE HAZLEWOOD INDUSTRIES (LHI) RECORDS reissues by MUNSTER! The folky psychedelic soul group EVE is the successor group to HONEY LTD. The group’s name was changed to Honey LTD. However, their only LP in 1968 was put in storage after various complications at the time…. In the spring of 1970, the band entered the studio with producer Tom Thacker to record “Take It And Smile. The ethereal harmonies were still there, and the image of the former psychedelic girl group was slowly transforming into one of funky grooves and stone country rock. The recordings were recorded by an impressive roster of musicians, including Elvis’ TCB band, the Wrecking Crew, Ry Cooder, Sneaky Pete, and Glenn Frey of the Eagles. In addition to songs by James Taylor, Fred Neil, the Gibb Brothers, Burt Bacharach, Bob Dylan, and Mac Davis, the album also features original compositions such as the beautiful “Dusty Roads” and the title track “Take It And Smile,” which was co-written with Glenn Frey! Newly remastered from the original analog tapes.
